Reference Checks

STARTING ANOTHER YEAR

With a brand new year underway, all of us at Barada Associates would like to wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2013.  Please be assured that you can continue to count on us to provide the same exceptional customer service, personal attention, and pre-employment screening products of unmatched quality, accuracy, and objectivity.

As we begin our 34th year in business, we will be looking at new ways to present the results of our references reports to you that will provide even more convenient ways to “get to the bottom line” on candidates you’re considering for employment.  At the same time, we will continue to offer our reference reports in the format with which you’re already familiar.  We’re merely planning to give you some new options with regard to how the information is presented.  The choice will be strictly up to you.

Thanks to you, Barada Associates enjoyed a very good year; and I want you to know how much I value your confidence in us.  You have my personal guarantee that we will continue to provide a broad array of pre-employment screening services and, of course, in-depth reference reports that will help you make informed hiring decisions, but also protect you from the specter of negligent hiring.

Each week I plan to offer helpful suggestions, tips, and insight into the reference checking process, regardless of whether you conduct them yourselves or have us do them for you.  It is truly remarkable how much more careful employers are being today than when I started Barada Associates over thirty years ago.  Back in those days, very few companies checked anything, as far as I could tell.  Today, most, not all, but most employers understand the importance of making sure candidates for employment are who they say they are but can also do what they claim they can.  The days of “just show me an honest face and you’ve got the job” are long gone.

The challenge still remains, however, to help employers see the value in an objective assessment of past job performance based on a professional reference check.  Some employers still don’t think it can be done.  Those of you who have given us the chance to demonstrate the quality of our work know the value of reference checking and that it can be done in a thorough, economical, and timely manner.  To all of you, please accept my sincere thanks for your continuing confidence in us – and, more than anything else, may I assure you that we will continue to do what we tell you we will do!

Have a wonderful 2013!
